About Hartland Water Softener Co.
A site for the water the Village of Hartland calls very hard in its own report, and for the Town of Merton homes beside it. Here is who runs it, what it does, and what it leaves to the licensed plumber.
Call (262) 829-5961Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pmA trade name, and the company holding it
Hartland Water Softener Co. operates as a trade name of ZeroGrain Water LLC, a company organized in Wisconsin.
We take the quote calls, work out the right size for your water and household, provide the equipment and set the schedule. The installation is carried out by a contractor licensed to do plumbing in Wisconsin, since a softener's drain connection is plumbing under Wis. Stat. ch. 145.
Things you will not get from us
A salesperson in your Hartland living room. Prices are settled by phone, and the only visit to the house is the plumbing contractor's, on install day.
Well service for Town of Merton homes, or any treatment beyond hardness. Bacteria and nitrate lie outside a softener's design, and the Wisconsin DNR's advice for private wells, a bacteria test every year at least, is a job for a lab.
Why the Hartland name gets its own site
Hartland's water has its own specifics. The Village's 2024 report calls it very hard, about 23 grains, pumped from five wells no deeper than 135 feet, with a phosphate solution added at each well station and chlorine at four of them. Next door, in the Town of Merton, private wells carry no published figure at all.
This site covers Hartland, the Village of Hartland and the Town of Merton.
Common questions
Does this site cover the Town of Merton?
Yes. A Town of Merton home on its own well is quoted from its lab report, or set from what the plumber measures at the tap on install day when there is no report.
